The success of a new medical technology is highly dependent on scientists, engineers, clinicians and commercial teams working closely together from the outset to develop a solution to an unmet clinical need. Each step that de-risks a medical device in development has spin-off benefits in the commercialisation process and capital raising efforts. A robust understanding of the clinical translation and implementation pathways of a new medical technology is critical to its eventual uptake and can accelerate commercial success.
This workshop builds on the inaugural event in 2018 that explored the New Zealand clinical trials ecosystem. This year, we move the conversation to exploring the expertise and offerings in clinical translation, and bring together the diverse skillset needed to support medical technology development for a robust discussion.
