Medical Devices are to be assessed by Pharmac and added to the Pharmaceutical List for procurement by DHBs. The role of Clinical Product Co-ordinators will need to evolve towards integrating listed devices into procedures/paths of care, ensuring alignment across DHBs. Can there be a national process for introducing new technology?
    How will Pharmac’c ambitious targets impact access for devices and procedures
PHARMAC is aiming to achieve $1 billion in savings for Vote Health in medical devices, and to create systems to enable effective and fair allocation of resources across all medicines and medical device technologies. Will these dramatic changes have a positive or negative effect on non Vote Health institutions.
